After much thought about where/what I want to do next with my life, I have recently gone back to school. Using my tax refund money, I enrolled in the TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language course at Chiang Mai University. If teaching proves to be something I enjoy and can be successful at, the goal will be to live in Thailand for 2 years. The next month will therefore not be about travel, but my experiences with the course.
The class group is a mix of ages and backgrounds and the course is intense. There is a ton of information being squeezed in 4 weeks and I have been exposed to more grammar this past week than in my entire life.
I am staying in a nice room with a t.v. and air conditioning, a blessing as we are in the thick of the hot season right now. I almost cried with joy when I unpacked my things and put my travel bag away for an entire month! No more unpacking and packing things every few days. And to top it all off, I bought some hangers!!!

Hi MMBA: WOW! congratulations on going back to school. we miss you here in nyc though. Planning an Arthur Avenue outing soon but it won't be the same without you.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you that you are finding so much joy over there! thanks for the blogging.
love YMBN
Thanks sweetheart. I am starting to miss Italian food terribly. They put ketchup on "pizza" here, kraft singles pass as cheese and "sausage" is a cut up hot dog.
ReplyDeleteClass has been fun/challr\enging, so very tired :)
